We're looking for an experienced, motivating Content Team Lead / Coordinator to guide our content development team and raise the quality of everything we publish. You'll lead a team of 5–10 writers, set the standard for professional, student-focused content, and help shape where Scholarship Union goes next. Join the passionate team behind Scholarship Union and help students around the world discover life-changing opportunities.

📌 About the Role

As our Content Team Lead, you'll own the quality and direction of our content. You'll lead a team of 5–10 writers — guiding, mentoring, and coordinating their work — while staying hands-on with the content yourself. You'll set editorial standards, read the numbers to understand what's working, anticipate what students will need next, and report directly to the co-founder. In short: you make the content sharper, the team stronger, and the strategy smarter.

🔧 What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate a content development team of 5–10 writers
  • Oversee the full workflow — researching, verifying, and publishing scholarship content from official, trusted sources
  • Raise the bar on quality, making our content more professional, clear, and engaging
  • Set editorial standards and guide the team's writing and tone
  • Mentor, support, and motivate team members so they do their best work
  • Plan and assign work, and keep the team on track and on deadline
  • Read analytics and performance stats, and turn them into smart decisions
  • Spot trends and anticipate what students will be looking for next
  • Coordinate with the social media team to amplify content
  • Report to the co-founder on the team's progress, performance, and plans

✅ What We're Looking For

✍️ Skills & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree (any department)
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with strong editorial judgment
  • Proven content writing experience, plus experience leading, coordinating, or mentoring a team
  • Comfortable reading analytics and stats, and using them to guide strategy
  • A forward-thinking mindset — able to spot trends and plan ahead
  • Organized and dependable, with a knack for coordinating people and deadlines
  • Reliable internet access and a suitable device

🙋 Personal Traits

  • A natural leader who brings out the best in others
  • A great sense of humor — keeps the team positive and motivated
  • Takes ownership
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive communicator
  • Self-motivated and responsible

🌟 Nice to Have (a plus, not required)

  • SEO and keyword-optimization knowledge
  • Comfort using AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT)
  • WordPress experience
  • Familiarity with a design tool (Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator)
  • Experience with analytics or social media tools
  • A track record of building or scaling a content team

🏡 How We Work

  • 100% remote — work from any time zone, anywhere in the world
  • Full-time, 8 hours a day — you set your own schedule within that frame; we only ask that you join scheduled team meetings
  • Trust-based culture — we value integrity, accountability, and good communication over rigid hours

🎁 What You'll Get

  • Flexible remote work — work from anywhere
  • Negotiable salary — based on your experience and skills, discussed during the interview
  • Paid time off — two weeks of paid vacation every year
  • Room to grow — develop your leadership, editorial, and strategy skills with a growing team
  • Purpose-driven work — be part of a passionate team doing work that genuinely helps students
